Well, Loan took me to the orphanage today. Very memorable! Sad to see so many children handicapped and not adoptable. I met a Canadian woman from B.C who is volunteering there until October. She was great!! She tried to help with the initial transitioning. Brielle has a little boyfriend at the orphanage and he is super loving not just to her, but to me. He climbed in my lap and hugged and kissed me constantly. It was a good thing cause it made her a bit jealous and then she wanted to kiss me too. She cried a lot knowing something was going on and because the nannies made such a big deal about my being there it made things even worse.
Finally, for the BIG SURPRISE!!
I got to take her with me to my hotel. She was NOT a happy camper, but once we got settled in I discovered she loves to color so I colored with her. She picked my pages for me and I would hold out my hand for crayons which she would give me. After a awhile it turned into a giggling event on her part. It was so CUTE! She loves the family pic books i had made for her and carries them around constantly looking at them. I have been telling her who everyone is and she just loves it. She knows I'm mommy we have that down pat. When I point to a pic of myself she will say MOMMY! I had also brought some mini cabbage patch dolls and she adores them. I discovered she bonded with the doll I had sent her in an earlier package which was also nice.
I took her to the market to buy some groceries which was eventful! Security had to help me with the traffic or I wouldn't be writing this right now. Motorbikes and vehicles alike are faster and do not stop at crosswalks ( if you can call them that.. Lol) so he managed the traffic for me then on
My way back I saw he was keeping an eye out for me and he helped me again. He even carried my purchases into the hotel for me. So Brielle had yogurt and loved it she also tried French fries and enjoyed them but threw up a bit of them after. We watched a bit of the rescuers down under while we cuddled( her choice ) she is a gem!
Oh !! On the way back from the orphanage we stopped and had her passport photo taken. Loan thinks I might be able to leave early, which I would love but that mean making flight changes AGAIN! which in and of itself isn't bad, but the penalties are a killer!
Wow! How exciting and surreal! Special first moments!
